Turning Man is a self-confident man who has been startled by something he’s seen out of the corner of his eye or just thought of; he turns to confront a potential danger.

Figurative sculpture adds elements of expression that are not possible with abstract works. I turn to the figure to comment on human nature and to stimulate a nod of recognition, a question or a smile.

Having spent many hours in meetings with people in businessattire, I was frequently drawn to assessing various body configurations, poses, expressions, and clothing.
