Crossing II, 2013
  • Aluminum, paint
  • 3’ H x 2’ W x 2’ L

The planes and open spaces in Crossing II form a contrast of expressions between architecture and abstract composition. The tension is between flat, vertical planes that are connected to expressive triangular shapes. The contrasting colors demonstrate how the inside and outside relate to each other.

In Fall 2013, Crossing II was one of five models shown at The Samuel B. Barker Art Museum at the University of Alabama, Birmingham in a competition for an outdoor piece at the entrance of a planned expansion. I was also selected to show Crossing II in Chicago Sculpture International’s (CSI) 2014 Biennial Exhibition, which celebrated the organizations ten-year anniversary of supporting Chicago-based artists.

CSI selected Crossing II to be part of a 2014 exhibition at The Elks National Memorial on Lakeview Avenue, Chicago.
